By Daniel R. Kisner
I bought the Butler Creek 30 mm scope covers for my Bushnell TRS-25 red dot sight. The rear part of the Bushnell sight has a very small extension to hold the scope cap. The rear cap pops off easily by bumping it or especially when closing it since the closing motion of the cap has to overcome the resistance of the locking mechanism that holds it open, which causes the cap to pop off the red dot sight. I did not have such problem with the front cap, however, since the barrel extension on the front is much longer than on the rear part of the sight. However, the Butler Creek cover is still better than the "bikini" type cover that comes with the TRS-25 sight, since the factory one has to be totally removed to use the sight, and the Butler Creek cap just has to be flipped open. You have to use two hands to close the rear one, one to hold it on the scope and the other to push it closed. I recommend that you mount the flip cap to open from the top with the cap lying on the rail when open, rather that floating above the scope.

Fair fit and function on a Bushnell Trophy. I wouldn't protect a scope worth more than $100 with them. These had raised lips to snap into a ring groove for both ends, however my scope only had a groove on the eye cup side. So, the base ring sits cocked on a smooth bore end and doesn't look very pro. However, they fit well on the grooved end, they're snug on both ends should keep out the elements. I'll probably buy something else eventually, however, they'll do for now.

Got these for my Bushnell TRS. After gluing them on to the ends they work great. Am really happy with these and will buy another set for my other TRS. Worth the money.
